Mechanical Design Specialist

In this role, you will harness the power of advanced 3D CAD platforms (ProE / Creo, SolidWorks - preferred) to lead the mechanical design process from conception through build, testing, and ongoing support.

As part of our Chattanooga, TN team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups to drive success in the development of custom tooling and fixtures. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of custom automation systems, managing complex projects.
• Create and document 3D mechanical designs utilizing CAD software like SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations to ensure mechanical performance and safety.
• Collaborate with teams across fabrication, controls, and project management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce technical drawings and detailed part documentation for production and procurement support.
• Engage with customers during the design phase to meet technical requirements and expectations.
• Ensure all mechanical designs align with project specifications and purchase order terms.
• Take ownership of small-scale projects, serving as Engineering Lead, Designer, and Detailer.
• Provide technical insight to Estimating, Sales, Production, and Service departments.
• Manage timelines proactively to meet project schedules in a dynamic environment.
