Pelvic Health Sales Representative

Pelvic Health is part of the Neuroscience Portfolio. Our therapies treat patients suffering from overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention and fecal incontinence with our sacral neuromodulation (SNM) systems Pelvic Health X and Pelvic Health Micro; and our percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNM) system NURO. More than 400 million people worldwide have incontinence, and many of them limit their lives socially, professionally and personally because of their condition. Our goal is to expand access to our therapies so we can help potentially millions of people get their lives back.

The Medtronic Pelvic Health Sales Representative manages territory based business and growth by initiating, supporting and developing strategic implanting centers and assisting in developing key referral networks. In certain geographies this role will also have primary responsibility for development of referral networks. The Pelvic Health Sales Representative is also expected to act as primary account / implanter relationship contact for assigned territory's customer needs including account level reimbursement responsibility. This includes coordination of all support activities and development of sales partnerships with distribution alliances. This is a field-based role. We are seeking a committed professional to join our team, required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role, which also involves travel outside the territory, presenting opportunities for broader engagement.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned :

  • Promotes and sells Medtronics Pelvic Health products and services within an assigned geographic area and / or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors, surgeons, nurses, and key opinion leaders.
  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronics Pelvic Health products and / or services.
  • Provides clinical and technical support during cases and informs the clinician of patient treatment options.
  • Promotes education of the companys products and / or services.
  • Conducts and / or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.
  • Develops and / or implements market development plans / strategies and changes as needed.
  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and / or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.
  • Establishes effective relationships and collaborates with other departments (Marketing, Finance, HR, Sales Training, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.

Required Knowledge and Experience :

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 8+ years experience
  • OR Associate's Degree AND 6+ years experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience
  • Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Nice to Have :

  • Solid knowledge of the Reimbursement climate
  • Experience calling on physicians in one or more of the following or related referral accounts Neurology, Urology, Colo Rectal Surgeons
  • Experience in developing new, innovative markets;
  • Experience in making multiple referral calls on a daily basis
  • Familiarity with the O.R
  • Solid job skills in business planning / consulting and territory financial analysis; preferred knowledge of managed care
  • Experience with Physiology / clinical therapies
  • Experience with Implantable devices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills
  • Team oriented
  • Conceptual / consultative sales skills
  • Understanding of all quality policy / system items that are applicable
  • Ability to follow all work / quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work
  • Other Job Requirements :

  • Required to function using healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation
  • Ability to serve as the primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events, periodically required to work weekends, evenings and nights and may be required to engage in overnight travel within own district or neighboring districts
  • Ability to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction when outside of clinical events
  • Ability to attend national meetings, district meetings and other training as requested
  • Ability to wear a 7-9 lbs protective lead apron for extended periods of time in the operating room
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to sitting, standing, and / or walking for 8+ hours per day
  • Ability to bend / stoop, squat and balance frequently
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer
  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel
