Operator / Laborer - Dayton, TX

R. J. Corman Railroad Company is currently seeking an Operator / Laborer to join our team in the Dayton, TX area.

Accountability : Operates specialized equipment in support of inspection, installation, and maintenance of railroad track

Responsibilities :

• Operate specialized equipment (i.e. Backhoe, etc.)
• Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment
• Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness
• May perform labor duties as needed
• Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process
• Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require
• Follow DOT regulations; ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed

Physical Requirements :

Environmental Conditions : Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions.

Job Dimensions : Interfaces with all levels of employees and management. Performs duties under general supervision with limited discretion. Does not directly supervise employees. Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced, outdoor railroad / construction environment. Requires efficient development and performance of processes; and requires ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment. High visibility position requires professional demeanor in interactions with supervisors, employees, contractors and customers.
