- Part-time position available with the Community Kitchen, a non-profit entity in Mason City, Iowa. Duties include coordinating activities related to the preparation, serving, and cleanup of a weekday evening meal, Monday through Thursday, and a Saturday lunch meal. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Complies with Federal, State, and local rules and regulations regarding food safety and quality standards. Demonstrates knowledge of food safety and sanitation by correctly answering questions, completion of an approved food safety course, and by actions Prepares and serves the evening meal and Saturday lunch meal Oversees volunteers, which change for each meal service Adheres to all Community Kitchen Policy and Procedures including those related to : Food preparation and safety Cleanliness of facility Setup of kitchen and dining area Gleaning (food donations) Recycling and waste Cleanup and end-of-shift duties Security of facility Pick up, receive, store, and inventory perishable and nonperishable food items bought, donated, or gleaned for the Kitchen Adheres to all Personnel Policies and Procedures Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission of The Community Kitchen Maintains a peaceful environment in the facility Skills Required A.Must be able to interpret, follow, and train others in health and safety practices and procedures applicable to The Community Kitchen B.
