Manager, Software Engineering - Ad Serving

WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are looking for a passionate Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented backend engineers building low latency, high throughput and performance ad tech systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation in Go / Java (Backend) along with solid experience in microservices and serverless architecture and Database systems. You will lead a team of engineers contributing towards the success of Viant's Ad serving and measuring system. Your job will involve overseeing the design and implementation of features to the bidding server in collaboration with partner engineering teams and product management.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

• Lead the development of high quality features based on requirements from product managers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Be involved in code / design on occasion, collaborating with the engineering team to contribute to critical projects, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance when necessary while balancing leadership responsibilities.
• Operate high-efficiency teams by implementing quality practices, ensuring speed of delivery, overseeing architecture and design, and maintaining high code quality.
• Foster a culture of continuous growth and improvement through coaching, mentoring, feedback and clear measurable outcomes.

Base compensation range : $160,000 - $200,000

In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
