Position Overview
SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Performs basic and advanced patient assessment and provides life support services to ensure patient care occurs at the scene and on route to the hospital. Identifies situations that require immediate intervention. Implements prescribed or delegated emergency measures safely, rapidly, and accurately. Validates the appropriateness of unusual medical control orders and functions as a patient advocate to assure medical control is aware of the patients present condition.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Valid NJ or PA Paramedic license based on location. National Registry accepted but requires state reciprocity submission within 45 days of hire.
Experience : One year EMS experience or pre-hospital emergency related experience.
Other Credentials : AHA ACLS-Adv Cardiac Life Supp,AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,AHA PALS,Drivers License,NJ MICU Paramedic,PEPP ADV
Knowledge and Skills : Intermediate computer skills.
Special Training : ICS 100, NIMS 700, and HAZMAT awareness. Specialty courses.
