Maintenance Worker

Position Summary : The Children's Aid Society runs a 53-camp facility in Chappaqua, NY. Multiple program are run there : summer day camp, overnight respite program for developmentally delayed children, adventure day programming, special events, and weekend retreats through the academic year.

Essential Duties : The Maintenance Worker is responsible to carry out maintenance and custodial tasks for the camp at the direction of the Facility Manager. Those task fall into four categories : Custodial, Mechanical / Maintenance, Grounds and Special Events :

Custodial

• Picking up litter and taking garbage and recycling to the dumpsters
• Cleaning cabins, dining hall and bathrooms
• Cleaning and maintaining indoor floor surfaces.
• Keeping track of building supplies
• Taking in and storing deliveries
• Setting up the camp for programming and cleaning up after.
• Moving furniture and equipment around the camp for programming and storage purposes.
