Seeking an experienced Veritas System Administrator to support the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) Task Order for the GIG Service Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated professional with hands-on engineering and testing experience in virtualized environments. A skilled technician knowledgeable in infrastructure such as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, automating and orchestrating operations, scaling releases, and managing day-to-day system operations in commercial cloud environments.
With the CESO program, the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) aims to transform the existing Secure Web Services (SWS) environment, used for secure information sharing, into a more mature service offering to meet DoD and IC community needs. This task order involves managing the commercial cloud migration, fully automating the continuous development & continuous integration environment, consolidating the fourth estate, professionalizing services based on ITIL / DevSecOps processes, enhancing customer experience with first call resolution, and developing a service catalog for the Defense Working Capital Fund (DWCF) model.
This position is located in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas NetBackup application across multiple CESO environments (Testing, Unclassified, and Classified).
- Maintaining the appropriate DoD Cyber compliance level as directed by the program Cybersecurity office via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
- Providing technical input and executing development, deployment, and configuration tasks to maintain the current operational environment.
- Monitoring backup jobs across multiple platforms.
- Performing periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
- Maintaining backup policies and standards.
- Troubleshooting performance issues and proposing solutions.
- Maintaining all equipment for the backup environment, including servers and disk storage devices.
- Managing and executing complex database backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
- Creating and maintaining documentation.
- Following and updating in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
- Adhering to ITIL and industry best practices for Change Management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
