The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for appointment, to fill two upcoming vacancies on the Umatilla County Fair Board of Directors. These are at-large positions, open to all residents of Umatilla County. A diversity of interests and geographical location within the County is desired. The Umatilla County Fair (UCF) Board of Directors are dedicated to growth in our region starting from the ground up. The UCF supports youth education with programs that not only promote the future of Ag but a diversified set of skills and interests as well, with a hands-on approach. The Fair provides a platform for our young leaders while developing confidence in others and yes, having some family fun too! Fair Board Directors serve one term consisting of 3 consecutive years typically after their Board Elect Year which does not count toward their first term. Upon request and review, they are eligible to serve a second consecutive 3-year term if approved by the Fair Board and Board of Commissioners.
If appointed, the first year of any Board-Elect is considered a training year before they can vote during Fair Board meetings.
If appointed, 2026 would be the Board-Elect year and the first official term would begin Jan. 1, 2027 and end on Dec. 31, 2029.
