Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Phoenix, AZ office's MEP Healthcare team!
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in MEP design and engineering consulting, particularly within the healthcare industry.
- Support mechanical design execution for various healthcare projects under the guidance of senior engineers
- Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assist in the preparation of cost proposals and project contracts, including add service agreements
- Participate in MEP systems reviews, engaging with code officials, contractors, architects, and clients to drive compliance and quality.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors
- Provide support to designers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in MEP design and engineering for healthcare projects within an engineering consulting environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsExperience with design software such as Revit BIM, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and EasypowerProficiency in national and local building codes, including NEC, State Energy Codes, NFPA guidelines, and FGI guidelinesExcellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on project teamsDemonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary teamStrong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking abilityWillingness to learn and grow in a project management capacity
