The Inbound Sales Executive is an entry-level sales role responsible for qualifying, advising, and converting inbound freight opportunities across NTG's primary modes, Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Truckload (TL) with the ability to support additional modes as needed.
As the first point of contact for new shippers, you will respond to incoming inquiries, educate customers on NTG's services, and close transactional shipments while also engaging in outbound account management and lead-development activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, natural curiosity, and a drive to grow a career in logistics sales.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Inbound Lead Management & Sales Execution
- Respond quickly and professionally to inbound leads across NTG's digital channels, call-ins, email, and chat.
- Qualify potential customers by identifying shipping needs, timelines, volume, pain points, and decision criteria.
- Convert inbound prospects into active customers by demonstrating NTG's value and closing LTL, TL, and additional modal opportunities.
- Follow up with leads to ensure they have necessary information and guide them through the purchasing process.
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.
Outbound Account Management & Lead Development
Make outbound follow-up calls to new and existing customers to drive repeat shipments and build stronger relationships.Conduct outbound calls from assigned lead lists to uncover new opportunities and activate dormant or interested prospects.Proactively identify shippers with long-term potential and nurture early-stage relationships.Customer Education & Relationship Building
Educate shippers on NTG's service offerings, pricing structure, capabilities, and expectations across LTL and Truckload.Build rapport to establish confidence and position NTG as a trusted logistics partner.Evaluate customer potential for long-term account development and transition as appropriate.Operational Coordination & Problem Solving
Communicate shipment details accurately with customers and carriers via phone and email.Troubleshoot real-time issues, coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth pickup, transit, and delivery.Maintain organized records of interactions and activities in CRM and TMS systems.Collaborate with marketing and product teams by providing feedback on lead quality and customer needs.Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Communications, or related field preferred but not required.Proven experience in inbound sales, customer service, or a similar customer-facing role (preferred).Interest in sales, logistics, transportation or supply chain is a plus.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
