Responsibilities :
- Accountable for the implementation of the vision, mission, and values of Mayo Clinic and the Department of Nursing within defined areas of practice.
- Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities within defined areas of practice to ensure the provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day.
- Contributes to the strategic planning process and attainment of goals of the organization.
- Responsible for one or more inpatient units based upon unit / area complexity and size of practice.
- Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice.
- Responsible for total work unit budget. Promotes shared decision making on the unit level.
- Acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community.
- Accountable for promoting ongoing development of all staff and for maintaining a professional environment in which all staff can grow and develop.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program and a master's degree in nursing, business or a health-related field as approved by the Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee.Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date.Candidates who meet the baccalaureate degree requirement but have not yet obtained a master's degree may be considered for an interim role.One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is preferred.Demonstrated leadership ability.Experience in the department's specialty preferred.Management experience preferred.Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.License or Certification :
Must obtain prior to start date : Current RN license by applicable state requirements.Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date.A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers :American Heart Association (Title : BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider)Red Cross (Title : CPR / AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)Military Training NetworkAdditional specialty certification / training as required by the work area.Exemption Status : Exempt
Compensation Detail : $115,960.00 - $173,992.00 / year

Schedule Details : Monday-Friday business hours. Ability to flex hours to meet practice needs.
Weekend Schedule : As needed for practice needs.
