The Housing Resource Navigator plays a vital role in this mission by connecting clients with essential resources and supporting them on their path to independence.
Role Overview
The Housing Resource Navigator supports individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by conducting assessments, shelter diversion, housing navigation, outreach, and resource coordination to help clients secure safe, stable housing and avoid shelter entry when possible. By reducing immediate barriers, the Housing Resource Navigator contributes to fostering stability and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct client assessments for housing needs, eligibility, and diversion opportunities.Use conflict resolution and problem-solving to help clients identify safe alternatives to emergency shelter.Assist with housing search, applications, landlord negotiations, and placement.Provide street outreach and direct engagement with people experiencing unsheltered homelessness.Maintain accurate records for Coordinated Entry, By-Name Lists, and funder reporting.Connect clients to services for income, mental health, medical care, legal aid, and other needs.Collaborate with the Housing Coordinator to support grant goals and compliance.Other Duties as Assigned

Required :
Associate degree in a related field or two years of experience in social work, human services, or comprehensive family support.Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.Valid Michigan drivers license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation.Successful clearance of DHS Central Registry and Criminal History Record Check.Must be able to obtain SOAR Certification within one year.Preferred :
Bachelors degree in a related field.Experience working with diverse populations and navigating public assistance programs.Benefits
