Job description

Lean Transformation Coach

Coach, drive and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools by partnering with operating leaders in business management roles. This role is crucial in driving a shift in operating mindset and ensuring lean principles are effectively applied to support strategic engineering and operational business plans. This involves cultural transformation resulting in step-change engineering transactional performance & business metrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the Lean Transformation within Engineering Transactional Processes to achieve Operating goals using KPI-based performance management.
  • Coach, develop and collaborate with all levels of the organization and functions including Associates, Support Staff, and the Leadership Team to help progress our Lean Culture and drive Continuous Improvement.
  • Be a Champion of Kaizen and Facilitate Kaizen Events to drive improvements using Value Stream Analysis, Pull, Kanban, Standard Work, 5S, and Single-Piece Flow.
  • Teach, promote, and practice the Systematic Approach to Lean @ GE and build lean conversion roadmaps & overall capability.
  • Participate in Daily Management Systems including Operating Rhythms, Genba walks, and Kata coaching cycles.
  • Coach teams using the Kata process to drive daily Rapid Experiments and Problem Solving in a systematic way.
  • Partner closely with business segments to prioritize and improve critical, cross-functional processes across the Commercial Engine Systems Engineering team for effective transformation and sustainment.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university AND a minimum of 5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, and/or Training.
  • OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years' experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, and/or Training.
  • Proven experiences in successfully driving change and transformation.
  • Relocation only offered if willing to move to our world headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
