About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum of 1 year

License : New York license required

Certifications : BLS Required, RRT Required

Must-Have : EPIC charting experience

Description :

Willing to rotate between acute and long-term care.

Work three twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend.

Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections.

Special procedures involve ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene.

Familiarity with special equipment including Hamilton Ventilators, Servo-U Ventilators, NKV330 (NIV device), Airvo2, and Dream Machines is required.

Airway management skills including endotracheal tube / suctioning, extubation, and intubation assist are essential.

Experience with nebulizer therapy and oxygen therapy is necessary.

Ventilator management experience, including BiPAP and CPAP, is required.

Call may be required overnight, approximately one every other week.

Weekend coverage is necessary, with at least six weekend shifts over the 13-week contract.

Ability to float between roles may be required.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.

The patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
