POSITION PURPOSE
Our Cooks contribute to OMR's Mission by serving up exceptional hospitality to our Guests in the form of perfectly executed culinary delights. They harness their wealth of knowledge, experience, skills and comradery to comprise an exemplary kitchen team. Our Cooks are responsible for ensuring the quick, precise creation of our menu items. They understand our ingredients and flavors and are proud of every dish that hits the expo window. They operate effectively and efficiently, always helping those around them who might need an extra hand. They move with speed and purpose, while always maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Finally, our Cooks bring their own unique flair to the more mundane tasks required of them, such as stocking, cleaning and organizing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operations Execution :
- Ensures food is prepared in accordance with OMR standards and recipes, and to each Guest’s preference.
- Ensures food safety and security processes and procedures are followed so that all Health Department standards are exceeded.
- Follows all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds.
- Preps all ingredients and products to OMR prep lists, par levels and recipe standards; taste tests everything!
- Communicates the status and availability of product to supervisors.
- Maintains prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner.
- Utilizes various prep and cooking methods to create menu items; washes, chops, cuts, grills, sautés, fries, etc.
- Tests the temperatures of the food.
- Minimizes waste of product.
- Packages and stores leftover foods according to OMR standards.
- Rotates product according to “First In, First Out” to maintain shelf-life standards.
- Supports other stations as needed.
- Restocks and replenishes inventory and supplies.
- Cleans, organizes and maintains the walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, cooler drawers, prep and dry storage areas.
- Washes dishes and takes out the trash as needed.
- Reports all equipment problems and maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Follows OMR standards and completes assigned checklists and sidework throughout and at the end of the shift.

At least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in food preparation in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant concept.Maintains a current Food Handlers Card.TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
