Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a NE or compact license, strong critical care skills, and required certifications for night shifts.
Responsibilities
Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care settingCare for a variety of ICU acuity patients, including vented patients and those requiring BIS scoring, TTM, and occasional IABPNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2, occasionally 1 : 3Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulinEMR system used is Epic12-hour night shifts, 7pm–7am, with every other weekend requiredFloat to PCU or MedSurg as neededHoliday rotation with permanent staffUnit does not use nurse aides or patient care techseICU support available in 14 roomsResponsibilities include independent management of critically ill patients, titration of various drips, and supporting a multi-disciplinary ICU teamClassroom orientation followed by two 12-hour unit shifts providedNavy blue scrubs required as dress codeArtificial nails are not allowed in any patient care departmentsOnly 7 days of time off permitted per 13-week contract and must be requested up frontTeam-oriented environment seeking positive nurses with strong collaboration skillsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyRequirements
Active NE or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years ICU RN experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS requiredMust provide copy of driver’s license for residency verification (must live more than 50 miles from facility)Candidates cannot be current or recent employees (within the last year) of any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or DignityPass a skills-based open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higherMust provide two professional references : one supervisor within the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor within the last 3 yearsBenefits
