Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, this position provides superior library service to patrons by managing the day to day operations of the library including oversight of finances, building, personnel, and materials.
DUTIES
- Day to day management of EPLD
- Hire and supervise staff : assign staff duties
- Be responsible for training or arranging training for staff
- Perform staff evaluations and reviews
- Report on activities regularly to the board of trustees
- Work with the assistant librarian on ordering learning materials and collection development
- Manage memorials and maintain memorial records
- Prepare state reports and grant requests, such as IPLAR and per capita grant
- Prepare ordinances, resolutions and other documents for approval by the trustees
- Prepare budget for review and approval of the trustees
- Prepare bills for payment
- Coordinate with Prairie Cat and RAILS staff to keep the library current on procedures
- Participate in the Prairie Cat library director meetings
- Coordinate programs and events for the library
- Represent the library at community, area, and state meetings
- Collect mail or designate staff to assist with task
- Write press releases and do publicity for the library
- Be the FOIA and OMA contact for the library
- Bar Coding certificate required with in first 4 months of hiring
