Mitigation Estimator

Status : Full-Time

Position Summary

The Mitigation Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, detailed estimates for mitigation and contents work while ensuring all documentation aligns with insurance carrier standards and company protocols.

This position bridges field operations and administrative functions, ensuring projects are scoped accurately , approved promptly , and completed profitably . The ideal candidate is skilled in Xactimate estimating and has a strong understanding of insurance processes and restoration documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed and accurate mitigation and contents estimates using Xactimate and related software.

Prepare and submit estimates and supporting documentation to insurance adjusters, clients, and TPAs.

Negotiate and communicate effectively with adjusters, property owners, and internal teams.

Coordinate with project managers and technicians to confirm scope accuracy and ensure timely project completion.

Track job progress, cost changes, and manage supplements as needed.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of insurance claim processes and carrier guidelines.

Ensure compliance with company standards, safety policies, and industry best practices.

Deliver excellent customer service throughout the claim and restoration process.

Qualifications

Experience : Minimum 2+ years of experience writing mitigation and contents estimates.

Certification : Xactimate Level 1 certification required (Level 2 preferred).

Bonus : Experience with abatement estimating is a plus.

Technical :

Proficient with Xactimate and familiar with DASH , MICA , DocuSketch , Symbility , or similar software.

Strong understanding of IICRC standards for water, fire, and mold restoration.

Familiarity with TPA platforms and insurance processes.

Other Requirements :

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate : $25–$28 (based on experience)

Commission : 1% on approved estimates written
