Classification : Non-Exempt

Salary Grade : Hourly

Schedule : Day and / or Evening hours (Monday-Friday)

Responsibilities :

As an exercise specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and Physical Therapists to implement personalized exercise programs. Your main responsibilities will include :

• Assisting MPT staff during fitness assessments, exercise sessions, and rehabilitation programs.
• Observing and learning from experienced clinicians, gaining insights into best practices and advanced exercise techniques.
• Providing direct supervision and guidance to patients during exercise sessions.
• Engaging in regular training sessions and educational workshops to enhance your clinical knowledge and exercise skills.

Requirements :

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements :

Preferred Education : BS in Health, Exercise, Physiology, or Kinesiology

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Hearing : Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

Speaking : Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.

Vision : Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other : Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required.

Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care service. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
