Advanced CMA - Cardiology Clinic

Description : RESPONSIBLE FOR :

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. May function as the primary support for the physician, and / or assists with complex procedures, therapies, and tests.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED :

High School diploma or GED required.

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required. In lieu of formal education program, three (3) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Two (2) years of experience in a medical office setting is required with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. In lieu of formal education program, three (3) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required.

MINIMUM LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :

None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

BLS required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization required.

Additional applicable clinical certifications (i.e. Phlebotomy, EKG, X-Ray, etc.) preferred.
