Advanced Accessories Program Engineering Manager

As an Advanced Accessories Program Engineering Manager , you'll lead the development of high-value accessory portfolios aligned with customer needs and vehicle strategies. These offerings enhance vehicle appeal, personalization, and functionality-driving excitement and profitability. The portfolio includes appearance packages, off-road enhancements, performance upgrades, protection, storage solutions, and other features that elevate the ownership experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering development of highly profitable accessories portfolios through the advanced phase of the VDP (from AFI to post DSI).
  • Serve as the key accessory contact to the vehicle program team and support meeting forums as needed (VAPIR / PET / POPs / VPIT / CITs).
  • Maintain the program scorecard for engineering deliverables (e.g., Dot Chart) and report program status at SMT meetings during key program milestones.
  • Develop, coordinate and execute Accessories Criteria, Surface, and Engineering Math Plan.
  • Lead program engineering status reviews, Timing Workshop and Innovation workshops.
  • Lead the overall integration of accessories into the production vehicle.
  • Input, manage and communicate program workload and PCAR input.
  • Coordinate program, studio and cross-SMT issue escalations.
  • Co-lead developing and managing accessories brand / segment portfolio strategies (e.g., Clinics).
  • Own the Accessory section of the regulatory checklist and assessment for programs while in the advanced phase of the VDP.

Required Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering functions within GM or equivalent
  • Previous design / release experience strongly preferred
  • Good understanding of GVDP
  • Process leader – ability to lead changes to evolving processes
  • Strong leadership, high self-motivation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Ability to network and run effective meetings with diverse participants cross-functionally and globally
  • Legal ability to operate a motor vehicle daily
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • 3 years of work experience in Accessory Product Development
  • SMT Experience preferred
  • Work authorization
