Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity for a licensed clinical pharmacist to provide prehensive pharmacy services within an inpatient hospital setting. The role focuses on medication management, clinical support, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals to enhance patient care.

  • Newport, Arkansas
    • Schedule :
  • Per Diem
  • Coverage primarily for 1st to 3rd shifts, including PTO and vacation relief

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review and verify medication orders for both inpatient and outpatient populations, ensuring accuracy, allergy checks, drug interaction screenings, and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Prepare and pound medications, including sterile and hazardous products, verifying technician-prepared medications before distribution
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support such as renal dosing, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), pharmacokinetics, and specialized consultation in areas like NICU, oncology, cardiology, and surgery
  • Educate healthcare professionals and patients on drug information and appropriate medication use
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, enforce regulatory pliance, perform medication storage inspections, and participate in quality assurance and controlled substance monitoring

    • Qualifications :

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Arkansas (AR)
  • Hospital pharmacy experience required; 2-3 years preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience with medication review and pounding
