Recruiting to fill two (2) openings until filled. Positions are temporary, non-tenure track, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient enrollment, and program needs.
Appointments may be renewable, subject to availability of funds, continued program needs, and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under faculty supervision:
- *Teach and/or assist with courses during the Fall/Spring semesters in one or more of the following areas of Hawaiian Studies: (HWST 107, HWST 207, HWST 307, HWST 356) and/or other Hawaiian Studies courses as needed.
- *Teach and/or provide support and assistance to instructor in the development and delivery of course content, discussion leading and facilitation, student feedback, and assessment.
- *Provide faculty direct technical support delivering technology-enhanced and online courses (Hybrid, asynchronous, synchronous, and H.O.T. - Here Or There).
- *Provide student direct technical support with course technologies (e.g. Laulima, Lamaku, communication and collaboration tools).
- *Attend weekly training meetings.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts in Hawaiian Studies or field of study closely allied to Hawaiian culture, history, language and/or arts.
- Admitted full-time at the University of Hawai'i in a graduate degree program at the time of hire.
- Completion of Hawaiian Studies 107 and another upper-division or graduate HWST course.
Desirable Qualifications
- Fluency in Hawaiian language;
- Admitted to the Hawaiian Studies Graduate Program;
- Grade point average above 3.0;
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
