CREDIT INTERNSHIP STUDENT - ( 250000UV ) Description The For-Credit Internship Student program will provide meaningful opportunities across multiple disciplines, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience, transferable skills, and exposure to diverse career pathways within the organization. Areas included are engineering / technical fields, information technology, and graphic design / communications / corporate training. Participants will contribute to system analysis, project documentation, inspections, and data collection; support application development, system updates, troubleshooting, and technical documentation; design impactful communication materials such as flyers, graphics, presentations, and social media content. By engaging in these diverse areas and collaborating across departments, participants will build transferable skills, strengthen collaboration, and contribute to advancing organizational goals in an inclusive and innovative environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Contribute to projects that align with the interns academic field of study. Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting as assigned. Support ongoing initiatives within the department. Prepare presentations, reports, or other deliverables as required by the supervisor. Collaborate with staff and fellow interns on group projects. Observe and shadow experienced professionals to gain practical exposure to industry practices. Shadow Safety staff during inspections, audits, or job site visits (observation only). Participate in regular check-ins with mentors / supervisors to review progress and learning outcomes. Maintain a weekly journal or log connecting internship experiences to academic coursework. Complete any college / university assignments required to ensure credit eligibility. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications LICENSES AND A valid drivers license from state of residence is required. CERTIFICATIONS EDUCATION Enrollment : Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Field of Study : Must be pursuing a degree related to the assigned internship area (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Communications, Graphic Design, etc.). Academic Standing : Must have successfully completed at least the first year of college. GPA Requirement : Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Credit Eligibility : Must meet the institutions requirements for receiving academic credit for the internship. EXPERIENCE No prior professional work experience required. Demonstrated ability to balance academic workload with project responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Interns must follow MLGWs safety policies, with training and PPE provided for field activities. Graphic Design / Communications roles are office-based, focusing on digital platforms and creative work. Engineering, IT, or technical interns may occasionally join supervised field visits, inspections, or project walk-throughs. These activities may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction sites, or utility environments. Work is primarily sedentary, involving computer use, typing, with occasional standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 20 lbs.). Technical / field assignments may require additional activity, such as walking sites, climbing stairs, or standing for extended periods.
