OR Tech Job Details

  • Location : Laurium, MI 49913 (Upper Peninsula – Michigan healthcare jobs)
  • Contract Length : 13 weeks (travel healthcare contract)
  • Start Date : September 29, 2025
  • Shift : 4x10 hour days per week (typically 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM; variable start times possible)
  • Hours per Week : 40 guaranteed
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1920 - $2060
  • On Call : 1-2 times per week (end of shift to 7 : 00 AM next day); every 4th weekend for call
  • Holiday Call : Required (no regular holiday shifts)
  • Scrub Colors : Provided

    • Operating Room Tech Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (Associate Degree or Certificate required)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Technologist
  • Strong experience in orthopedic surgery and C-section cases required
  • Proficient in sterile processing and surgical standards
  • Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills

    • OR Tech Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons and the healthcare team in a variety of surgical procedures, including ortho and C-section cases
  • Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Participate in sterile processing and infection control as needed
  • Support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures
  • Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced operating room environment
  • Document procedures accurately using the Epic charting system
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency surgical needs
