The team specializes in caring for medically fragile, step-down–level patients, including those requiring ventilator and tracheostomy support. Position Summary We are seeking skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Kindred Hospital Chattanooga team on a PRN basis. This role involves caring for high-acuity patients in an aggressive step-down environment. Ideal candidates have strong Med Surg experience and are comfortable managing complex patients with ventilators, trachs, and advanced medical needs. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to LTAC / step-down patients. Manage patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, complex wound care , and other advanced therapies. Perform comprehensive assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with orders and facility protocols. Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, rehab staff, case management, and other clinical team members. Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, care expectations, and recovery. Support and maintain safety, infection control, and quality care standards. Requirements Active RN license in the state of Tennessee. Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience required. Critical Care or Step-Down experience preferred . Competence and confidence with vents, trachs, and high-acuity patients. Current BLS (required); ACLS preferred. Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced LTAC environment.
