Project Level Biologist - Natural Resources

About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Project Level Biologist with experience in natural resource management and biological studies for our Half Moon Bay, CA office. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to develop or continue a long-term consulting career that combines high-level technical expertise, business acumen and the potential for leadership. Responsibilities may include developing and implementing scientific studies, leading surveys, natural resource planning, staff coordination, project management, and business development. An important aspect of the work will involve staff mentorship and technical review of reports.

It is anticipated that travel, including overnight stays, will be required for this position. This position may at times also require long or abnormal work hours (early start times, night shifts, etc.). Fieldwork will include travel throughout California, specifically locations within San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Counties, and the great San Francisco Bay Area. Experience throughout the state is not required .

The Project Level Biologist will have the opportunity to join SWCA's scientific leadership program, which allows top subject experts to be recognized and rewarded for distinguished productivity and intellectual acumen, to make regular contributions to corporate strategies, and provide input to all levels of the company. It is anticipated that low to moderate travel will be required for the position. This position is Regular Full Time eligible for benefits. Pay rate will be competitive, based on individual qualifications and experience.

Under this job requisition, we may hire the following job position :

• Assistant Project Biologist - Typically with up to three (3) years of relevant experience and expertise.
• Associate Project Biologist - Typically with up to five (5) years of relevant experience and expertise.
• Project Biologist - Typically with up to seven (7) years of relevant experience and expertise.

An employee in this Half Moon Bay, CA-based position can expect a pay rate for an Assistant Project Biologist of $32.76- $42.74 / hr, for an Associate Project Biologist $37.44 - $48.05 / hr and for a Project Biologist $85,662.72 - $110,323.20 / yr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
