About The Position

Job Title : CVOR RN

Experience : Minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have : Experience titrating medications, assisting perfusionists, drawing labs, assisting anesthesia with lines, and setting up IV medications and programming pumps.

Description :

Unit operates with 10 OR rooms.

Average 30 cases per day across all rooms.

Common cases include CABG, valve replacements, and TAVR support.

Additional cases in neuro, total joints, major vascular, general surgeries, GYN, urology, plastics, and minor podiatry procedures.

No ophthalmology or bariatrics cases are performed.

Scrubbing is done by surgical technologists.

RN First Assist is required.

Charge nurse supervises during weekdays.

RNs rotate charge responsibilities on Monday evenings.

No charge RN on weekends; RN on call coordinates cases.

Surgical techs assist with scrubbing, and nursing assistants facilitate turnover, gather equipment, and handle patient transport.

Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner.

Shifts commonly start at 6 : 30 AM.

Call is required 2-3 times per week.

Weekend call is scheduled every third weekend starting Friday and ending Monday morning.

Weeknight call begins at 2 PM and continues until 6 : 30 AM.

Response time for call is 30 minutes.

Floating among OR rooms is expected.

Two anesthesia aides support anesthesia during procedures.

Surgery schedulers are available Monday through Friday.

Cancellation policy allows up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.

Charting is done using the Cerner system.
