Sr. Power Systems Electrical Engineer (Marine) – Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer passionate about marine power systems and sustainable maritime technology? Our growing client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong marine or heavy industry background to focus on advanced power solutions for ships and barges. Our client develops environmentally conscious solutions for the maritime industry.

This pivotal role involves managing all electrical power system and distribution aspects of complex marine construction, repair, and conversion projects, from concept to completion. You\'ll ensure technical excellence and adherence to industry standards, focusing specifically on robust and efficient power generation and distribution networks.

Your comprehensive understanding of marine electrical standards and practical experience with shipboard systems are crucial. If you lack marine electrical experience, a strong background in designing diesel-electric systems or power generation and automation in a heavy industry setting would be of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Design marine power systems , with an emphasis on power generation and distribution networks , including power for lighting, automation, and communications systems.
  • Conduct advanced marine electrical analyses for projects involving propulsion, energy management, and automation solutions.
  • Manage engineering projects autonomously, overseeing personnel, budgets, schedules, and technical progress.
  • Review drawings, specifications, analyses, and calculations for conformance with client requirements and regulatory standards such as ABS, RINA, DNV, and USCG
  • Engage directly with clients and approve vendor documentation to ensure quality and compliance of power system components.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and conduct competitive analyses to keep power system designs at the forefront of the industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 6-10 years of relevant work experience
