Job description

Communicare is currently seeking a  Kitchen Manager  at our Crisis Stabilization Unit in Panola County. Responsibilities include the following :

  • Oversees the overall organization of the CSU Kitchen.
  • Plans menus for all meals to ensure they are balanced and palatable.
  • Orders supplies and food according to set inventory levels.
  • Ensures all food preparation meets health department standards.
  • Keeps food service area neat and clean.
  • Supervises kitchen staff.
  • Trains new kitchen staff on cooking fundamentals and safe food handling.
  • Interacts with residents, establishing helping relationships in order to develop self-esteem of residents.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor of Residential CDU Services or equivalent designee.

Job Requirements :

  • Graduate of high school or equivalent and one year experience in similar position.
  • Ability to plan menus and supervise other kitchen activities and skills in food preparation.
  • Health Department (ServSaf) Certification.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of liability insurance, and an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and accept supervision.
  • Acceptable criminal background check.
