Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time position at an elementary school in Mount Vernon, KY. This contract role for the next school year requires an educator with experience working with students who have Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD). The position offers a caseload focused entirely on elementary-level students, providing a dynamic and rewarding teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with LBD and other special education needs.
  • Develop and implement IEPs to support student progress and behavioral goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement strategies to facilitate positive outes.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student performance and behavior.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary-level students, preferably with a focus on LBD.
  • Strong classroom management skills, particularly in settings with high behavioral needs.
  • Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs.
  • Effective munication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Position Details :

  • Location : Mount Vernon, KY
  • Contract duration : Next school year (NSY)
  • Full-time hours : 37.5 to 40 hours per week
  • Start date aligned with the school calendar; students begin August 25th.
  • No vocational support duties currently due to high behavioral demands.
