Victory Collegiate Academy- Assistant Principal
Position Title : Assistant Principal
Supervisor : Principal
Term of Employment : 12 months
Salary Classification : Administrative Salary Schedule
Job Summary : This position supervises the teachers and staff members assigned to Victory Collegiate Academy using leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each of his / her students. A significant emphasis is focused on knowledge of student instruction and learning assessment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned :
- Assist with Victory Collegiate Academy's programs
- Assist with Victory Collegiate Academy’s rules, policies, and procedures
- In charge of discipline for all grade levels
- Collaborate with the Principal and administration team on frequent observations of the instructional programs and provide feedback for the growth and development team
- Promote a positive tone for collaborative school / community relations by articulating the mission, seeking community support, and fostering rapport with all stakeholders
- Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities. Communicate and meet with parents as needed, seeking their support and input, to create a cooperative relationship to support the students.
- Establish concrete goals and expectations that all students meet based on the analysis of student achievement data
- Assist with the effectiveness of curriculum alignment, instructional strategies, implementation, and assessment
- Collaborate with the administration team to provide opportunities for effective staff development that address the needs of the instructional program and needs of the staff, including workshops, conferences, visitations, and sessions in which staff shares successful practices and keep the staff informed and seek ideas for the improvement of the school
- Attend evening and weekend school events
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Met Meetings (MET) on your caseload
- Effectively support classroom teachers on your caseload
- Observe elementary classrooms daily to offer feedback to staff, evaluate and document staff performance with the Principal and administration team
- Check teachers’ lesson plans on your caseload weekly to ensure they are following Victory Collegiate Academy’s expectations
- Check teachers’ grades on your caseload weekly to ensure they are following Victory Collegiate Academy’s expectations
- Check teachers’ ClassTag to ensure they are posting daily
- Oversee Support Staff on your caseload
- Assist with the responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of students, employees, and visitors while on campus
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Knowledge of applicable Victory Collegiate Academy’s policies and proceduresKnowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and city statutes, rules, policies, and proceduresKnowledge of special education curriculumDemonstrate the ability to provide instructional leadershipDemonstrate the ability to assess student learningAbility to prioritize school issuesExcellent problem solving and negotiation skillsDemonstrate the ability to communicate in oral and written formSkills in identifying, preventing, and de-escalating negative behaviorsSkills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public, and others having business with Victory Collegiate AcademySkills in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.Minimum Qualifications : A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years leadership experience in a school setting and a minimum of three years as a teacher or any equivalent combination experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Arizona Principal CertificateMust have a current and valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardMust be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver’s licenseMay be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 poundsMay be required to lift students weighing up to 60 poundsMust be able to complete training in CPR, First Aid, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), and specialized training for students with CollegiateMust be able to perform a therapeutic hold using CPI when a student becomes a danger to themselves or others; must be able to run after students who are at risk of fleeing from a safe locationMay be required to work outside normal working hoursMay be required to travel to perform work functionss supports the implementation of innovative instructional strategies and administrative processes.
