Sr. Purchasing & Supply Specialist
The CertainTeed Offsite Solutions is looking for a talented Sr. Purchasing & Supply Specialist to enable profitable growth in the ONE PRECISION ASSEMBLIES product line. This position will play a crucial role in executing strategic purchasing and inventory control. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and exciting start-up environment while maintaining poise, organization, and diligence.
Essential Functions :
- Procurement & Strategic Sourcing : Coordinate sourcing activities for key materials and services by partnering with stakeholders to understand demand, quality requirements, and budget targets. Support competitive quoting processes and help evaluate supplier proposals to ensure best overall value and supply reliability.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization : Collaborate with plant stakeholders to forecast demand, maintain appropriate stock levels based on lead times and consumption trends, and coordinate inter-plant stock transfers to reduce downtime risk. Monitor inbound deliveries and provide proactive issue resolution to support on-time PO closure and improved supply chain continuity. Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues that could delay production or impact service levels.
- Invoice, Compliance & Payment Oversight : Work closely with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve invoicing discrepancies, ensure accurate documentation, and support audit readiness by maintaining compliance with internal purchasing and financial controls.
- Vendor Relationship & Management : Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, support vendor onboarding and qualification processes, and ensure ongoing compliance with procurement and risk management policies. Participate in supplier performance reviews and escalate quality or delivery concerns when needed. Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers, track performance against expectations, and escalate issues as needed. Participate in supplier reviews and help ensure corrective actions are implemented where delivery, quality, or service gaps exist.
- Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement : Support cost analysis, material substitution reviews, and supplier benchmarking to identify savings opportunities. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and supply chain efficiency enhancements to drive greater value across the procurement function. Serve as a point of contact for operational teams, providing guidance on purchasing processes, order tracking, and supplier capabilities. Support coordination across functions to improve transparency and supply chain responsiveness.
What Do You Bring?
Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply-Chain, Economics, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent required.5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, strategic sourcing in manufacturing or industrial environment.5+ years of experience in working with cross functional stakeholders (finance, operations, suppliers, etc)5+ years of experience in working with SAP or equivalent ERP systems to purchasing, material planning or supplier management.What Are Our Perks?
