As a Clinical Support Technician I (Nursing Assistant I), you will play a vital role in our Acute & Intermediate Care Unit, responsible for assisting in patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up patient rooms, and handling various clerical and maintenance tasks in the patient care unit.
This unit consists of 26 beds, including a 6-bed Intermediate Coronary Care Unit (ICCU), where patients receive care for myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmia, as well as pre- and post-operative care for cardiac procedures.
This position qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, offering $5,000 over a three-year commitment.
This role comprises 36 hours of work per week, including 12-hour rotating shifts (7am-7 : 30pm and 7pm-7 : 30am) with weekend and holiday rotation. Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including accrued PTO hours based on your worked hours. A week-long orientation is required (Monday through Friday, 7 : 30am-5 : 00pm), held every two weeks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routines, examinations, and procedures, while ensuring equipment and supplies are procured.
 - Review patient care documentation, noting any significant changes and reporting them immediately to a registered nurse or physician.
 - Perform various clerical tasks such as organizing workloads, greeting visitors, retrieving information as requested, reviewing orders, answering calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records. Conduct quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory management of supplies.
 - Provide clinical support, including cleaning work areas, maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, changing linens, checking supply inventory, transporting patients / supplies / specimens, and assisting with the orientation of new employees and students.
 - Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in their care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation. Record vital signs and patient measurements, and perform specimen collection, catheter care, and other tasks as needed.
 - Reinforce education provided to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions while distributing educational materials.
