Summary of Position

The Senior Genomics Sales Director is responsible for the overall health and performance of the assigned region. In partnership with the direct manager (Regional Vice President), you are responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies based on opportunity analysis and reviewing results from business analytics. You are responsible for meeting your region’s sales goals and quotas, creating and maintaining a Regional Business Plan, analyzing data, managing regional Salesforce CRM data, completing sales and company training, and overall maintenance and growth of your region. You must be well informed about Fulgent’s service menu and associated science, the markets, and be able to forecast sales, understand competitive landscape, and provide potential product improvements. As Senior Genomics Sales Director, you will serve as a field advisor to your immediate manager and own the territory as an independent franchisee of Fulgent Genetics, responsible for overall profit and loss of the region.

  • Strong Salesforce CRM knowledge and daily commitment.
  • Acquire market intelligence and feedback and provide the information to your direct manager.
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with customers, prospects, and business partners.
  • Actively gather content for the marketing team for applications notes, web content and new applications.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree; preference for life sciences.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful clinical genomics diagnostics sales experience.
  • Record of sales accomplishments spanning at least five (5) years in meeting sales goals, negotiations, and customer needs.
  • Experience calling on Children’s Hospitals and academic institutions in the rare diseases market preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with a range of senior stakeholders.
  • Self-directed with strong work ethics and initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong ownership skills.
  • Salesforce CRM competence.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, rules and / or regulations to clinicians and the public.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain cooperative relationships when dealing with clinicians, the public, and / or outside agencies.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Compensation

  • The compensation package includes a commission plan in addition to the advertised base salary. The compensation offered is for the first year and depends on technical knowledge in genomics and rare disease markets, sales acumen, total years of experience, and location. On-target earnings (OTE) are estimated based on reaching 100% of quota; OTE is not guaranteed but serves as a guideline. Total OTE for this role is between $170,000 - $200,000 in the first year of employment. Corporate mileage is expensed at current GSA rates.
