MFT is seeking a dedicated, hardworking and reliable candidate who will have the ability to complete all necessary training in order to become a competent, effective, and successful Production Line Operator.
Summary
The Production Line Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of an aerospace plating line in accordance with MFT procedures, ensuring the successful plating of electroless nickel parts. In addition, this role involves providing technical assistance and training to colleagues.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of experience in electroless nickel plating, metal finishing / plating, or related training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to follow instructions precisely
- Keen attention to detail and awareness of the job’s requirements
- Familiarity with all substrates processed on an aerospace plating line
- Knowledge of applicable stripping procedures
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately plate parts and complete tasks as scheduled or outlined in predefined listsStrip electroless nickel tanks and perform passivation as neededSafely transfer solutions between tanks using pumps and proper valve alignmentStandardize, calibrate, and operate the electroless nickel controllerMonitor chemical levels and replenish materials when requiredMaximize output from the process line, including managing multiple jobs at onceConduct chemical analyses of E / N solutions and adjust as necessary based on resultsClean anode and cathode bars daily; add anodes as requiredClean horns and saddles three times weeklyAccurately complete work order tickets, daily line logs, customer part riders, and related paperworkMaintain a clean and orderly work environmentMonitor equipment conditions and recommend repairs or replacements as neededActivate parts using approved proceduresSuggest and implement improvements in areas such as processing steps, fixturing, or part handlingRead and execute instructions from printed work ordersEnsure customer parts meet all work order specificationsComply with MFT, customer, and quality control standards including thickness, color, brightness, and coverageProvide technical support to rackers, packers, and dryers on the process lineTrain fellow employees on MFT processes as neededPrepare chemical additions and make-up solutions as directed by the labTest acid concentration as part of process controlBake parts when required to meet customer specificationsOperate acid and hand pumps and handle solution transfersMaintain a safe working environment by handling chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and oxidizers properlyAdhere to safety committee, EHS department, and MFT safety requirementsPerform other duties as assigned
