ABOUT THE ROLE

We are excited to offer a Semester 1, fixed-term contract (6 months) for a Teacher of Primary Classroom Music to join our vibrant and creative school community. This position is a 0.8 FTE role (4 days per week) and is backfilling a teacher currently on an internal secondment.

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring classroom music programs across Prep to Year 6
  • Provide high-level support and involvement in our much-loved Primary Musical
  • Contribute to the wider co-curricular music program, supporting events, ensembles, and performances
  • This role offers the perfect balance of professional engagement and personal time while making a meaningful contribution to the lives of our students.
  • ABOUT YOU

    The successful applicant will be a passionate and skilful teacher of Music who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to nurture young musicians. You will bring :

  • Current Queensland Teacher Registration (QCT)
  • Bachelor Degree in Music or Education (a Master’s Degree will be viewed favourably)
  • Knowledge of Orff and Kodály methodologies (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated success delivering engaging classroom Music programs in a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting and leading musical events, productions, and / or musicals
  • The ability to lead and coordinate co-curricular music activities and ensembles across Prep to Year 6
  • A willingness to actively promote and support a broad range of musical opportunities within the Primary School
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work positively with colleagues, students, and parents
  • High-level computer literacy, preferably within an Apple environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
