Picture Monday morning : you've reviewed non-urgent maintenance requests, walked the floor to scope each job, and translated what you saw into clear, safe plans. You've confirmed parts in the storeroom, queued special tools and lifts, and organized drawings, OEM manuals, and equipment histories so technicians have everything they need the moment work starts.

By mid-week, you're leading a planning and scheduling huddle with Production, balancing priorities and adjusting as conditions change. Your Weekly Technician Schedule allocates 100% of available labor hours across preventive maintenance and priority planned work. You're watching the numbers—keeping the Ready Backlog at or above 80%—and using maintenance metrics to drive smarter plans next week.

What You'll Do

• Assess non-emergency work requests, define scope, and inspect jobsites to capture requirements.
• Estimate craft hours, skill mix, parts, materials, equipment, and special tools for safe, efficient execution.
• Pull technical resources (schematics, specs, spare parts lists, equipment histories, OEM manuals, and knowledgebase content) and verify part availability before scheduling.
• Coordinate auxiliary equipment and specialized tooling as needed.
• Maintain and prioritize the work order backlog; sustain a Ready Backlog of 80% or higher.
• Continuously refine job plans for accuracy and effectiveness through a structured review process.
• Facilitate weekly planning / scheduling meetings with Production to set priorities and communicate status.
• Build a Weekly Technician Schedule that fully utilizes technician labor hours (targeting 100%).
• Use maintenance KPIs to improve planning and scheduling performance.
• Maintain records and documentation to support meaningful analysis and reporting.
• Train site personnel on the CMMS, championing system integrity and consistent utilization.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Expect frequent standing and walking, manual handling with hands and fingers, reaching, climbing and balancing (including use of ladders or lifts), and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in tight spaces. You'll regularly communicate in a noisy factory setting and at times sit. The role may require lifting or moving items over 50 pounds occasionally. Close and vision are used regularly. You may occasionally encounter outdoor weather and electrical hazards. Work typically occurs in a loud manufacturing area where hazardous materials and slick or greasy floors may be present.
