Mining Technician

Location : Grand Forks North Dakota

Pay Rate : $20.00 / hr. $1.00 / hr shift differential overnight

Shift Times : Front Half Sun - Wed Rotate Sun Off / Back Half Wed - Sat Rotate Sat Off 7am - 7pm

Travel : Occasional travel between data centers may be required

Overview

The Mining Technician I plays a key role in monitoring data center equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting the overall reliability of mining operations. This position is responsible for registering and tracking repair tickets, ensuring accurate updates, and assisting with troubleshooting, installation, and asset management. The role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing hands-on technical skills in a fast-paced data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and report project status, issues, and constraints; update systems such as Minder and JIRA as needed.
• Proactively monitor production systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability, including remote support for other sites as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance on data center equipment.
• Rack, cable, and install hardware including miners, network switches, PDUs (with temperature / humidity sensors), servers, and network gear.
• Ensure proper installation and connection of power and network cables (copper, fiber, Cat5 / Cat6).
• Create and maintain accurate data center hardware maps and asset management records.
• Provide intermediate-level troubleshooting for servers and network devices, escalating issues when necessary.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting, including diagnosing switch issues and verifying connectivity.
• Assist with electrical troubleshooting :

Partner with Level I Technicians on diagnosing PDU issues and verifying connections.
