Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC certified)

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an RRT in a hospital or acute care setting

Strong clinical respiratory care skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care and therapy to patients per physician orders and hospital protocols

Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes

Document patient care, assessments, and procedures accurately in the hospital EMR

Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide advanced life support as needed
