PRODUCTION MANAGER - 2nd Shift
Join the team at Pilgrim's and manage the 2nd shift production operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the further processing production operations of the plant.
- Coordinate production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals.
- Set objectives and review shift's performance versus objectives.
- Encourage subordinates to find ways to reduce cost.
- Ensure sanitation meets USDA standards.
- Co-ordinate production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.
- Analyze equipment daily and review with maintenance superintendent.
- Provide a clear sense of direction for supervisors to work toward and encourage teamwork to achieve goals.
- Establish challenging goals and standards for each supervisor and encourage them to give their best effort.
- Ensure effective utilization of human resources by training subordinates, motivating consistent performances, appraising performance, recommending salary action, and developing for potential promotion.
- Monitor operations to meet company policies, quality specifications, USDA and OSHA standards.
- Conduct plant inspections to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Manage all aspects of operations to assure a safe working environment.
- Take immediate action to eliminate improper practices or hazardous conditions.
Qualifications
5+ years experience in the poultry / food industry with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.Strong leadership skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.Ability to organize and prioritize work.Educational requirement : High School Diploma / GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
