Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a specialized non-public school serving students with autism and complex communication needs in Silver Spring, MD. This role focuses on delivering high-quality speech and language therapy within a K-12 setting, supporting students through both direct and consultative services to enhance their functional communication skills.

Responsibilities include :

  • Providing direct individual and group speech and language therapy to students with autism spectrum disorders and co-occurring communication challenges
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Utilizing specialized therapy techniques tailored to the unique needs of students in the special education environment
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and progress tracking in alignment with district protocols
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to program development initiatives

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in school, healthcare, or teletherapy settings
  • Comfort with itinerant caseload models and the ability to provide therapy across settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
  • Eligible for or in the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is considered
  • Location : Silver Spring, MD

    Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week, year-round contract

    Setting : Non-public special education school with dedicated therapy space
