Director of Learning and Development (L&D)
The Director of Learning and Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and leading structured training and development programs that drive organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This role ensures that employees across multiple functions such as operations, logistics, sales, and leadership gain the right skills at the right stage of their careers, with a focus on continuous learning and advancement. This role is onsite 5 days a week.
What You’ll Do
Learning Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a company-wide training framework organized by employee level, ensuring clear progression as employees advance from frontline to leadership roles.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and prioritize training needs across key operational and customer-facing areas.
- Serve as the organizational lead for L&D, aligning initiatives with business priorities and long-term talent strategy.
Training Design & Delivery
Design, launch, and oversee scalable training pathways (e.g., onboarding, role mastery, and leadership readiness).Build repeatable learning systems that reinforce knowledge and prepare employees for higher responsibility.Incorporate blended learning methods classroom, e-learning, on-the-job, and coaching to maximize effectiveness.Performance & Compliance
Ensure all training programs meet applicable safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.Define and track metrics to measure program effectiveness, including productivity, retention, and leadership pipeline health.Collaborate with HR to align onboarding, career development, and succession planning efforts.Technology & Innovation
Implement and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) to structure, track, and deliver role-specific learning journeys.Leverage modern learning tools such as microlearning, mobile learning, and virtual training environments.Stay up to date on trends and best practices in workforce learning and organizational development.About You
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).8+ years of progressive L&D experience with a strong record in training design, implementation, and governance.Background in operations, logistics, or related industries preferred.Solid understanding of compliance and safety training protocols.Strong communication, facilitation, and instructional design skills.Proficiency with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.Core Competencies
