Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions : Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Safety :
The Site Safety Manager will partner with the KBE Field Staff to ensure project safety compliance. This position will eliminate and control risk that could lead to injury or property damage by implementing the KBE Safety Program daily. The Site Safety Manager will contribute to the development of the overall safety program and jobsite culture.
The Safety Manager shall actively participate in the goal of the OSHA Partnership of keeping incident rates below the average by performing the following :
Deliver a detailed briefing to all employees prior to work, clearly explaining the KBE working rules and potential disciplinary action if necessary.Field Audits :
Create safety reports daily for site activity using the KBE safety reporting app. Document positive and negative issues. The Site Safety Manager will spend significant time in the field.Correct issues in the field immediately or shut down all potential employee exposures.Enforce the disciplinary program.Subcontractors :
Hold weekly safety meetings with all foremen, with agenda and minutes documented.Ensure subcontractors have a corporate safety program that all employees have read and understood.Conduct preconstruction meetings with safety portions for each subcontractor prior to starting work.Require toolbox talks submitted weekly by subcontractors; topics selected by the Site Safety Manager.Review administrative items from subcontractors (crane permits, suspended load permits, hot work permits, fall protection plans, silica prevention plans, daily scaffold inspections, and more).Training :
Collect proof of training for all employees in required areas for assigned activities.Pedestrian safety and secured site :
Ensure perimeter fence and signage are in place to keep pedestrians out of the site as much as possible.Plan to deter vandalism or theft; ensure subcontractors lock up tools and materials.Pre-Task Plans :
Must be completed by the subcontractor for each task and reviewed by KBE; all involved employees must read and sign.Ordinance, Environmental, and Weather :
Plan for snow removal and winter protection; implement hot weather safety procedures in summer.Dust control in place.Prepare the project for high winds.Ensure noise and working hours align with city guidelines.Education, Experience, and Qualifications :
