Description :

Supports Information Technology Division operations by assisting professional staff with securing and maintaining law enforcement information systems. Performs technical and administrative tasks to help enforce security procedures, monitor system activity, and restore workstation in accordance with agency policies and standards.

Position Summary

The Field and Systems Aide support Systems Analysts and collaborates with users, system administrators, network engineers, and other IT personnel to ensure secure and efficient operations. The role involves performing a range of technical support tasks related to information system configuration and protection.

This entry-level classification is designed for individuals with clerical or technical backgrounds who possess foundational information systems experience or trainingpreferably within a law enforcement environment. The position serves as a developmental opportunity for employees to gain the hands-on skills and analytical capabilities needed to progress toward a professional-level systems analyst position.

Key Responsibilities and areas :

Field and Systems Aide

• Provide onsite support to mitigate, isolate, and restore quarantined or compromised workstations.
• Re-image systems using department-approved processes to ensure the workstation meets current cybersecurity and configuration standards.
• Collaborate with IT personnel to close vulnerabilities through patching and configuration hardening.
• Interpret vulnerability assessment reports and follow established

Ideal Candidate :

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and has a foundational understanding of IT operations and cybersecurity principles. Familiarity with security protocols, system administration, or law enforcement IT environments is preferred. As part of on-the-job training, the selected candidate may rotate through various duties to gain a comprehensive perspective that integrates law enforcement operations, CJIS compliance, and industry best practices.
