Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiologist to join our dedicated healthcare team on a part-time basis. The Cardiologist will diagnose and treat heart conditions, perform cardiovascular procedures, and provide patient education to support heart health. This position will be split between our St. Ann's and Bronx Blvd locations in the Bronx, offering flexibility while serving our patients.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments to diagnose cardiovascular conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac imaging.
- Prescribe treatment plans, including medications and lifestyle changes, to manage cardiovascular health.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures, such as catheterizations, angioplasty, and stent placements.
- Educate patients and families about heart disease prevention, treatment options, and healthy lifestyles.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient information accurately in the medical record, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advances in cardiology.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety and care standards.
Minimum Education Requirement
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a focus on Cardiology.
Experience
Minimum Work Experience : 5-8 years of clinical experience as a Cardiologist, preferably within an FQHC or similar setting.Preferred Work Experience : 8+ years in cardiovascular medicine.Licensure & Certifications
Valid and active license to practice as a Cardiologist in the State of New York.Board Certification in Cardiology preferred.Current BLS and ACLS certifications.Active DEA License.Required Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency in diagnostic tests and procedures for heart diseases.Knowledge of current cardiology guidelines and best practices.Compassionate, patient-centered care with strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while prioritizing quality and safety.Bilingual English / Spanish preferred but not required.Job Details
