Job description

Bridges Consumer Healthcare is a leading consumer healthcare company focusing on women's health, pain care, and supplements. Bridges' brands feature products across OTC, supplements, and medical devices, with innovative and trusted brands such as ecoNugenics, Florajen, Lipo-Flavonoid, Thermacare, Certain-Dri, and KT Tape.

Overview of Position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting the Controller in managing the accounting operations of this growing company, including production of financial reports, maintaining accounting records, setting controls and budgets, and establishing accuracy of the company's financial results.

Role Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting : Support the Controller in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reports.
  • Accounting Management : Prepare / post monthly journal entries including prepaids and accruals; ensure internal controls; prepare and file sales and use tax returns; balance sheet reconciliations
  • Compliance : Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards. Prepare reports for audits.
  • Supervision : Supervises direct report(s)
  • Problem-solving : Identify and solve for discrepancies in financial records and assist in development of effective control systems.
  • Other : Monitors daily cash balances, receipts, and disbursement; assist in A / P and A / R processes as needed; Ad hoc reports / responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's degree with concentration in Accounting / Finance or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.

Required Experience : 3-5 years in relevant accounting roles

Preferred Experience : NetSuite software, Mergers and Acquisitions integration, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. Supervisor experience desired.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Individual must be highly motivated and able to work effectively in both an independent and team role, operating with a high level of integrity and respect for others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment and the flexibility to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Special Requirements : Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the Bridges Consumer Healthcare corporate office.
