Poultry Procurement Director

We’re partnering with a leading national food manufacturer seeking a highly strategic and detail-oriented  Poultry Procurement   Director to lead sourcing and supply initiatives across the company’s poultry portfolio. This is a pivotal, high-impact role for an experienced procurement professional who brings deep industry expertise and a passion for building resilient, cost-effective supply chains.

• This is a remote role, with limited travel(10-20%)!

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing : Develop and execute sourcing strategies for fresh and further-processed chicken, securing high-quality supply at optimal cost and reliability.

Supplier Partnerships : Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, portioners, and processors to ensure consistent performance and innovation.

Market Intelligence : Analyze poultry market trends, feed costs, and regulatory changes to inform proactive purchasing decisions and risk mitigation strategies.

Quality Assurance : Partner with QA and operations teams to uphold USDA and FSIS compliance standards while ensuring top-tier product quality.

Inventory & Cost Management : Oversee inventory levels, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or food safety.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with R&D, production, finance, and sales teams to align procurement strategies with business goals and product innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

10+ years of experience in procurement, with a strong background in poultry (chicken or turkey).

Proven negotiation and contract management skills.

In-depth understanding of poultry market dynamics, pricing structures, and sourcing strategies.

Familiarity with USDA / FSIS regulations and food safety programs.

Exceptional analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
