AP / Payroll Specialist
Description
Position Overview : The AR / Payroll Specialist reports to the Controller and provides financial and administrative duties to coordinate the preparation and processing of the marinas weekly and bi-weekly payroll, as well as related accounting functions for the group. The ideal candidate has a strong background in payroll A / R and payroll processes.

Responsibilities
- Manage automated collections system and perform professional collections calls on all overdue accounts as needed.
- Maintain and reconcile AR aging reports and provide regular updates to management.
- Provide operational support to the Finance Department, including collections and preparing reports and audits.
- Coordinates the preparation and processing of the marinas weekly and bi-weekly payroll and associated tasks, which includes managing, recording, reconciling and posting payroll records using Paychex Flex.
- Partner with Marina Managers to validate all timesheets for completeness and accuracy.
- Confirm that all pre-tax and post-tax deductions and any wage garnishments are correctly accounted for.
- Track and manage employee time-off requests, including vacation and sick leave.
- Run preview reports and provide to local and regional managers for final review prior to processing to review for errors, such as incorrect pay rates, hours, and deductions.
- Ensuring all payroll follows current legislative changes.
- Reconciles medical, dental, vision and life insurance bills.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller and other members of the Finance Leadership Team. All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the fluctuating demands.

Experience
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.3+ Years experience in a payroll function or general accounting.Direct, hands-on experience with Paychex, Paycor or ADP is strongly preferred.Proficiency in software (e.g. Quickbooks Desktop) and Office Suite (Excel, etc.).Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.A strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles and financial modelingConsistently treats others with dignity and respect.Genuinely serves others with humility and a positive attitude.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Always communicates effectively and courteously with fellow teammates and members.Willingness to provide a responsive, and high level of service to the team and members.Ability to put forth the extra effort to accomplish duties.Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing priorities to meet company or member needs..Experience with mid-size company, multiple companies, and multistate operators.Able to work on-site in Jamestown, RI or Cranston, RI.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
